What it does

A book on a topic — read aloud, in seven days.

Three things Catalyst is built to do — and three it isn't.

01

A daily lesson, not a daily feed.

You open the app, listen to today's lesson, mark it done. The app closes when the lesson ends — no scroll, no notifications stack, no recommended-for-you tray.

02

A path with an end.

Curated paths are seven days, hand-written. Custom paths — anything you describe — generate in about ninety seconds. Each closes itself. You finish them. You move on.

03

No streaks. No flame to defend.

You'll see "you've returned three days in a row" written out, in a sentence. That's our entire claim on your attention. No badges, no XP, no leaderboard.

Journey
A day, walked through

Open the app, on the way to somewhere.

01

Pick a path you actually care about. Choose a curated path, or type a topic and generate your own — anything from “how the Greeks thought about anger” to “negotiation, for non-negotiators.”

02

Listen, or read. A 10–20 minute lesson narrated by a human voice. Plays in the background, locks the screen, AirPlays to the car. Reads cleanly when you'd rather sit with it.

03

Mark it done. Close the app. Spaced-review surfaces the lesson again two weeks later, in a single sentence. That's the loop.

A short principle

Most apps are designed to capture attention. We wanted to build one that deserves it — an hour a week, where the only metric that matters is whether you came back.

A few honest questions

Things people actually ask.

How is this different from Blinkist or Headway? +

Book-summary apps give you the takeaway of a book in fifteen minutes. Catalyst gives you a seven-day path that does the opposite — slows an idea down enough that you can actually live with it. The summary is the work, here. You'll never finish a path feeling that you were spared the thinking.

Who writes the lessons? +

Curated paths are written by people who teach the material for a living and reviewed twice before publishing. Custom paths use an AI pipeline (blueprint → script → polish) and are narrated by the same voice cast — they're labelled as generated, so you always know.

Will there be Android? +

iOS first — it's where we can hold the craft bar highest in a small team. Android is on the roadmap, after the iOS public launch.

What's on the free tier? +

One curated path of your choice, with Day 1 narrated and the rest readable. You can finish the path on Free if you'd rather read than listen. Upgrade when you want audio for the remaining days, custom paths, or a second active path.
